The Power and Energy arm of DIMO has launched EVO by DIMO, a dedicated solutions platform designed to support the rapid development of Sri Lanka’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. Covering charging capacities from 11kW to 360kW, the launch marks a significant milestone in the country’s evolving electric mobility ecosystem. Through this platform, DIMO introduces the globally trusted Siemens range of commercial EV chargers to the local market, strengthening the foundation for large-scale EV adoption.
The Siemens commercial EV charging portfolio is engineered for high-demand environments including office complexes, commercial buildings, shopping malls, hotels and resorts, hospitals, universities, and privately operated EV charging stations. Designed to meet the growing needs of Sri Lanka’s EV landscape, these chargers deliver high-performance, energy-efficient charging solutions, enabling commercial users to deploy world-class infrastructure at competitive cost points.
EVO by DIMO will also introduce Sri Lanka’s first dual-gun AC 22kW chargers with IP65 rating, offering a reliable and space-efficient solution for hotels, resorts, offices, roadside locations, and other destination charging sites requiring simultaneous charging for two vehicles in Sri Lanka’s high-humidity and outdoor conditions.
Looking ahead, EVO by DIMO aims to build a fully connected, nationwide network of commercial EV chargers, unified through the EVO by DIMO App. The app allows users to locate nearby charging stations with live availability updates. Its “No Wallet Needed” feature enables seamless payments via securely tokenised saved credit and debit cards, eliminating the hassle of maintaining prepaid balances. Users can also start and stop charging sessions, monitor charging performance in real time, and receive smart notifications once charging is complete.
EVO by DIMO also intends to introduce Sri Lanka’s first mobile DC roadside charging support, with a 30kW DC charger deployed through a dedicated roadside assistance vehicle to provide emergency, on-the-spot charging. In addition, Siemens EV chargers under EVO by DIMO support NFC-based access, allowing hotels, offices, and commercial facilities to implement tailored charging solutions with controlled user access and simplified authentication.
Beyond building its own network, EVO by DIMO also intends to be a trusted hardware supplier and service provider to other aspiring EV charging network operators, supporting the wider development of Sri Lanka’s charging ecosystem through technology, engineering expertise, and after-sales capabilities.
Commenting on the launch, Shehan Amaratunga, General Manager, Power & Energy at DIMO, said: “The introduction of Siemens commercial EV chargers through EVO by DIMO represents a critical step in building a resilient, future-ready charging network for Sri Lanka.”
Backed by premium Siemens technology, strong after-sales support, and DIMO’s 85 years of automotive and power-engineering expertise, EVO by DIMO is positioned to play a defining role in Sri Lanka’s transition to cleaner, smarter, and more efficient electric mobility.
