First Capital Holdings is Great Place To Work CertifiedTM for the fourth consecutive year

February, 10, 2026

First Capital Holdings PLC, a subsidiary of JXG (Janashakthi Group) and a pioneering force in Sri Lanka’s investment landscape is proud to be Great Place To Work CertifiedTM for the fourth consecutive year, achieving an outstanding 94% employee positivity rating to the Trust Index™ survey statement “I would say this is a great place to work” and an average score of 90% across all survey statements.

The certification is based entirely on direct and anonymous employee feedback collected through an independent assessment conducted by Great Place To Work Sri Lanka, the national affiliate of Great Place To Work®, the global authority on high trust workplace culture and employee experience.

The Trust Index™ Employee Experience Survey, is a standardized global tool through which employees anonymously evaluate their workplace across dimensions such as trust, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie. Organisations that score above the required benchmark of 70% average positivity are eligible for certification for a period of one year, making the recognition a reflection of employee perceptions rather than external assessment.

The Group has also fostered meaningful cross-functional engagement beyond formal work structures, driven organically by employees. These initiatives have contributed to collaboration across departments and strengthened internal networks, supporting a more connected workplace experience. Notably, the Trust IndexTM employee perception scores have shown consistent improvement over the past four years, indicating growing employee acceptance and engagement.

Commenting on the recognition, Wasanthi Stephen, Group Chief Human Resources Officer -  JXG (Janashakthi Group), stated, Our approach to people management is centred on listening, learning and acting. The insights we receive through the Great Place to Work survey help us benchmark ourselves and identify areas for improvement. This recognition reflects sustained effort across learning, wellbeing, rewards and inclusion, shaped by continuous employee feedback.”

Speaking on the people practices underpinning the recognition, Chamara Pussella, Head of Human Resource - First Capital Holdings PLC, said, “Being recognised as Great Place To Work CertifiedTM for the fourth consecutive year reflects the culture we continue to build intentionally. Our focus has been on creating an environment where people feel respected, included, and empowered to grow. This recognition matters because it is grounded in the voice of our own employees.”

At First Capital, people development remains a key pillar of the Group’s culture. The organisation invests in foreign training for key management personnel, including learning programmes conducted in partnership with global universities such as INSEAD and Harvard. Continuous learning is further complemented by above-market variable compensation structures, aligned to performance across all levels of the organisation

Great Place To Work Sri Lanka has established a benchmark for positive workplace culture, grounded in global research standards and local employee perception. For First Capital Holdings PLC, the certification serves not only as recognition, but also as a platform for continuous improvement, ensuring the organisation remains a workplace where people can grow, contribute, and feel valued.
