FITIS Welcomes and Pledges Full Support to Government’s “100 Days Digital” programme

The Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS), the apex body representing the nation’s ICT sector, warmly welcomed the Government’s launch of the “100 Days Digital” programme during INFOTEL 2025 launch , reiterating its full commitment to support this ambitious initiative. The programme is designed to accelerate digital transformation across government services, education, businesses, and startups, and to strengthen Sri Lanka’s journey toward a USD 15 billion Digital Economy by 2030.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Dayan, Chairman of FITIS, said, “FITIS welcomes the Government’s bold and visionary 100 Days Digital programme. We pledge our full support to accelerate digital adoption, empower businesses and startups, enhance education, and strengthen Sri Lanka’s position on the global digital stage. Together, we will build a digitally empowered nation and move decisively towards a USD 15 billion Digital Economy by 2030.”

FITIS emphasized that the 100 Days Digital initiative represents a historic moment for Sri Lanka. It is an opportunity to implement measurable digital initiatives with immediate results, while also laying a foundation for sustainable long-term growth. The Federation highlighted its active role in supporting the Government across multiple fronts to ensure the programme delivers significant impact.

INFOTEL 2025 remains a central focus for FITIS during this period. The event serves as the national ICT platform to showcase innovative solutions, foster collaboration between government, industry, and academia, and provide actionable insights for digital policy and implementation. INFOTEL 2025 will highlight emerging technologies, best practices, and successful digital adoption case studies, demonstrating how technology can improve governance, business productivity, and citizen services.

The Digital SME Programme will empower small and medium enterprises to adopt technology solutions that enhance efficiency, scalability, and market competitiveness. FITIS will provide SMEs with mentorship, training, and access to digital tools, ensuring that local businesses can compete effectively in global markets. This initiative is aimed at strengthening the SME ecosystem and generating high-value economic opportunities.

The Young Computer Scientists Programme focuses on identifying and nurturing the next generation of ICT professionals. FITIS aims to create a talent pipeline capable of driving innovation and supporting the nation’s digital ambitions.
