The government is to centralise all data from all state departments like the Department of Registration of Persons, the Immigration & Emigration Department, Department of Census & Statistics and the Pensions Department and establish a National Data Centre.

This data centre is to be maintained by the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka.

More expenses have to be incurred currently since almost all government data are being maintained separately says the government.
