The Hayleys Group dominated the recently concluded CA Sri Lanka’s 55th Annual Report Awards, the diversified conglomerate and its subsidiaries taking home a total of 11 awards including an impressive 6 gold awards while claiming the Silver Award for Overall Excellence in Financial Reporting.
Organised by the CA Sri Lanka, the Awards serve as one of the country’s most prestigious platforms for showcasing the highest standards of transparency, accountability, social responsibility and corporate governance in the fields of annual reporting and corporate disclosures.
Leading the Group’s stellar performance was Hayleys PLC which brought home the Lal Jayasundara Memorial Trophy for the third consecutive year winning the Gold Award in the Diversified Holdings (Groups Above 10 Subsidiaries) category.
Hayleys PLC also went on to claim the Gold Award for Integrated Reporting: Best Disclosure on Stakeholder Engagement, further validating its commitment towards the highest standards in transparent financial reporting. The company also won the Silver Award for Management Commentary.

Top performers for the group at this year’s awards included Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (KVPL) and Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC (TTEL) which collectively shared the Gold Award in the Plantation Companies category.
Similarly, Hayleys Advantis Limited bagged the Gold Award in the Service Organisations category. Hayleys Advantis has won this award on multiple occasions, while Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC picked the Gold Award in the Trading Companies category for the second successive year.
Meanwhile, Singer Finance (Lanka) PLC brought home the Silver Award in the Finance Companies & Leasing Companies (Total Assets Above LKR 20 bn) category.
Dominating the Manufacturing Companies (Turnover Up To LKR. 5bn) category, Alumex PLC took the Silver, while Dipped Products PLC brought home the Bronze Award.
Established in 1878 by Chas. P. Hayley as a trading house in Galle specialising in import and export, the Hayleys Group has since grown to serve as a centrepiece of the Sri Lankan economy while maintaining a global presence of manufacturing and marketing offices across five regions with business interests spanning a total of 16 sectors. Today it stands out as one of Sri Lanka's most prominent success stories, having been the first listed Sri Lankan corporate to surpass US$ 1billion in revenue and accounting for 3.4% of the nation's total export earnings.
