HNB General Insurance has been crowned the Gold Winner in the Insurance Sector at the National Management Excellence Awards (NMEA) 2025, organized by the Institute of Management of Sri Lanka (IMSL). The recognition marks a significant endorsement of the company’s accelerated transformation journey, reflecting the growing maturity of its management practices and the strength of its internal operating model, while reinforcing its long-term trajectory of sustainable growth. This recognition reflects our ongoing transformation driven by our people, processes and performance.
Widely regarded as Sri Lanka’s premier platform dedicated exclusively to management excellence, the NMEA evaluates organizations on how they are managed rather than on short-term financial performance alone. Applications undergo a rigorous, multi-stage assessment by an independent panel of eminent judges, ensuring credibility, impartiality, and depth of evaluation.

As the only national awards scheme dedicated solely to management excellence, the NMEA plays a critical role in elevating organizational standards across Sri Lanka. Organized by IMSL - Sri Lanka’s sole representative and full member of the Asian Association of Management Organizations (AAMO) - the awards carry strong national and regional credibility.
This recognition follows closely on the back of HNB General Insurance being ranked third in the “General Insurance” category of the LMD Customer Excellence Rankings, placing the company among Sri Lanka’s leading general insurance brands.
