India’s leading airline, IndiGo, has launched a new direct flight service between Delhi and Colombo, further enhancing air connectivity between India and Sri Lanka.
The new service, which commenced on 29 March 2026, will operate six times a week using Airbus A320 aircraft, offering passengers more convenient and seamless travel options.
The introduction of this route is expected to strengthen longstanding ties between the two countries, particularly by facilitating increased tourism, trade, and business travel.
With this addition, IndiGo now operates more than 55 weekly flights to Colombo from five Indian cities Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Delhi. The airline also connects Chennai and Tiruchirappalli to Jaffna with 10 weekly flights.
The expanded network underscores IndiGo’s growing footprint in Sri Lanka, as it continues to offer affordable and reliable travel options for passengers.
