The COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund that was initiated by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa received another donation of Rupees fifteen million five hundred thousand from the Lanka Gem Dealers and Miners Association (LGDMA).

This contribution was made by the LGDMA to support the fund by helping the efforts of the Government to fight the Covid-19 pandemic by providing the required facilities and services to the communities, the health services and the supporting Government agencies. The Association together with its membership stands to support the fight against Covid-19 and hope this contribution will facilitate in providing the necessary resources to assist the Government in their initiatives, under the direction of the President.

The cheque for Rs.15.5 million was presented to His Excellency, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa by the Chairman of the Association, Mr.Punsiri Tennakoon together with Committee members Mr. Tissa Jayawardena and Mr. Tissa Ananda.
The Lanka Gem Dealers and Miners Association comprises of a membership of about 500 members.
