The Naturub Group of Companies donated Rs. 100 million towards the Government’s “Rebuilding Sri Lanka” Fund, established to provide relief to those affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
The cheque was handed over to the Secretary to the President, Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, by Mr. Tissa Eleperuma - Chairman of Naturub Group of Companies, at the Presidential Secretariat, in the presence of the board of directors of Naturub Group.
“This donation underlines our deep commitment to the people of Sri Lanka. To help drive the continued recovery, these funds are an investment in a sustainable future that benefits all communities in the country. Therefore supporting sustainable growth and revitalization of the affected areas, would create a foundation for community prosperity,” said Mr.Eleperuma.
Established in 1977, Naturub Group of Companies Ltd is one of the leading manufacturers and exporters of apparel accessories and trims in South Asia, providing their products to a variety of international brands which comprise Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Victoria’s Secret, GAP, Lands End, Marks & Spencer, NEXT, Columbia, George, Decathlon and Uniqlo of American, European and Japanese origins and to local textiles companies such as MAS, Brandix, Hidaramani and Hela Clothing.
It has gone internationally as well by establishing key factories in Dhaka and Chittagong , Bangaldesh as well as in the Ismailia Free Zone in Suez Canal Region in Egypt. Currently it has around 2500 work force in its international operation.
Locally, it has two major factories with over 2500 employees in the Panadura and Horana Industrial Parks.
