On August 6th, 2025, the NDB Toastmasters Club held its 13th Executive Committee Installation Ceremony at Hilton Colombo Residencies. The event was a memorable evening of inspiration, leadership, and fellowship.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Lasantha Dasanayaka, Vice President – Human Resources at NDB Bank, who attended as the Chief Guest. His presence underscored the strong support the NDB Toastmasters Club continues to receive from the bank’s leadership.

The ceremony also welcomed Distinguished Toastmaster Niroshan Nadarajah District Director, District 82 of Toastmasters International as the Guest of Honor, who offered his congratulations and encouragement to the newly appointed Executive Committee. Joining him were the District officials, including, Program Quality Director, Distinguished Toastmaster Bhathiya Hettiarachchi and Club Growth Director, Distinguished Toastmaster Piyakara Jayaratne, who added value to the evening through their presence and support.

The Keynote Speaker, the CEO of Rootcode, Toastmaster Alagan Mahalingam was specially invited to deliver the evening’s keynote address. Drawing from his extensive career journey, Mr. Mahalingam shared invaluable insights on leadership, growth, and the importance of going beyond one's comfort zone to become an impactful and exemplary individual. His words offered practical wisdom and left a lasting impression on the audience.

Adding further pride to the occasion were the club’s very own members who also serve in district leadership roles. Distinguished Toastmaster Tharindu de Silva, who currently serves as the Public Relations Manager District 82 of Toastmasters International Toastmaster Dilrukshie Mervin, the Division Director - Division E, and Toastmaster Pristly Ivan, the Area Director - Area E4, all attended as part of the NDB Toastmasters family, showcasing the depth of talent within the club.

The night also marked a significant milestone with the induction of 14 new members into the club. This fresh influx of talent signals a vibrant future for the club as it continues to grow and inspire.

A key moment of the evening was the formal appointment of the Executive Committee memebrs of NDB Toastmasters club and appoointing Toastmaster Mohamad Fazlan as the President for the 2025/26 term, along with the rest of the new Executive Committee Members. Their leadership promises to usher in a new chapter in the club’s journey.

The installation ceremony, held as a fellowship night, created a warm and celebratory atmosphere for members, guests, and leaders. With powerful messages from the keynote speaker and esteemed guests, the NDB Toastmasters Club stands energized for another year of personal growth, confident communication, and impactful leadership.
