At the special invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is scheduled to depart for India today afternoon (17) to attend the AI Impact Summit 2026.
The summit, to be held under the patronage of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focuses on the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the benefit of humanity. President Dissanayake is scheduled to address the summit on the 19th.
The five-day summit will bring together Heads of State from 20 countries, along with representatives from more than 45 nations. Extensive discussions are expected on the future trajectory of Artificial Intelligence and its potential role in addressing global challenges.
During his visit to India, the President is also expected to hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other world leaders.
