Profit earnings of Sri Lanka’s Listed Companies sluggish during fourth quarter

Data from a latest survey reveals that the profit earnings of listed companies in Sri Lanka have slowed during the fourth quarter of 2014.

According to this survey report released by Capital Alliance Securities (Private) Ltd., when compared to the fourth quarter of 2013, the total earnings of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) during the same quarter of 2014 had showed an increase of 9.3 per cent with Rs. 55.8 billion.

However, compared to the increase of 52.8 percent during the third quarter of 2014, the CSE has showed sluggish progress in its earnings during the fourth quarter of 2014.

The highest earnings for the CSE during the fourth quarter of 2014 has been from the banking sector while John Keells Holdings PLC has brought the highest earnings as a single company.
