The Chinese company which had submitted the estimate for the construction of the Northern Expressway to the earlier government has submitted a new estimate to the incumbent government with a reduction of some 50 billion Rupees, says the Finance Minister.
While speaking in Colombo today (23 January) Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake said that this particular company had submitted an estimate of Rupees 248 billion for the construction of the Northern Expressway.
The new government would not halt any development projects started by its predecessor but would only suspend any projects where corruption is involved, obtain correct estimates and continue them, added Minister Ravi Karunanayake.
