Four separate Chinese delegations, representing different Chinese provinces will arrive in Sri Lanka during this week to strengthen bilateral trade and commercial ties between the two countries, says The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
The delegations, to be facilitated by the Sri Lanka - China Business Council are expected to arrive in the country on 26, 27 and 30 March and also on 01 April.
The visiting delegations represent Chinese Provinces like Shenyang, Shandong, Liaoning and Yunnan and these visits are also expected to help cultivate relationships between the individual provinces and Sri Lankan business entities.
The delegations are expected to hold meetings with members of the Sri Lanka – China Business Council, Sri Lankan businessmen, officials of the Export Development Board and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka.
The Chinese business delegations have expressed their interest to meet their local counterparts engaged in the business areas of travel, automobile, aluminium, heavy industries, furniture, imports and exports among many other areas of interests.
An MOU also will be signed between the Liaoning Province and Sri Lanka towards strengthening the economic cooperation between the two provinces.
The Hong Kong Culture and Economy Promotion Association for International Cities visited Sri Lanka during the early part of this week and held meetings with their local counterparts.
