Seychelles opens door to Sri Lankan contractors

A memorandum of understanding was signed in Colombo this morning (28 August) between the Board of Investments of Sri Lanka and the Seychelles.

He believes that this MoU would open up business opportunities in the Seychelles to Sri Lankan contractors, said Investment Promotion Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardene.

While attending the event, Seychelles Trade and Investments Minister Pierre Laporte said that already the Bank of Ceylon, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation and Sanken Construction Company were engaged in business in the Seychelles.

While expecting to develop the investment sectors of both countries it has been agreed to hold international exhibitions and conferences for investors from both countries enabling them to exchange information on economic and trade sectors.

Under the MoU, conferences, training, workshops and productivity development programmes would also be held to the qualitative development of the labour force.
