Sri Lanka – Singapore Business Council of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce

The Sri Lanka – Singapore Business Council (SLSBC) of The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce elected Mr. Shiluka Goonewardene, Head of Deal Advisory at KPMG, as President of the Council at the 26^th Annual General Meeting conducted recently.

Concluding 25 years of operation the SLSBC has since its establishment effectively executed its mandate to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. Initiatives under this mandate include streamlining processes for Sri Lankan entrepreneurs to enter the Singaporean market and promoting digitalization for startups and SMEs in Sri Lanka with the aim of empowering local businesses with advanced tools and technologies, thereby leading to increased efficiency and competitiveness in the global market.

The Council also elected Vice Presidents – Mr. Tilak Gunawardhana - Chief Financial Officer, MAC Holdings (Pvt) Ltd., Ms. Nirupa Peiris - General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Overseas Realty (Ceylon) PLC, and Mr. Indhra Kaushal - Group Managing Director, Kalhari Group of Companies, for 2023/24.

Representatives of Member companies A. Baur & Co. (Pvt.) Ltd., Air Global (Pvt) Ltd, Aitken Spence Cargo (Pvt) Ltd, Ceylon Grain Elevators (Pvt) Ltd, CIC Holdings PLC, Hemas Hospitals (Pvt) Ltd and Star Promotions (Pvt) Ltd were elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Council.
