The Indian Cultural Association (ICA) is delighted to unveil the official race route for the Janashakthi Life – ICA International Half-Marathon 2025, scheduled for Sunday, 14 December 2025, in Colombo. Endorsed by the Indian High Commission and the Ministry of Sports, Sri Lanka, along with other statutory bodies this landmark event will commence at the Galle Face Green, bringing together athletes and communities in a celebration of endurance, unity, and philanthropy.

Following the overwhelming success of its inaugural edition, this year’s marathon is “SOLD OUT”, attracting over 2,000 participants, a testament to the event’s rising prestige within the international running community. The 2025 edition will feature three race categories: the Half Marathon (21.1 km), Challengers Run (10 km), and Family Run (5 km). All participants are required to report by 5:00 AM, with the official start scheduled for 6:00 AM.

A total prize pool of Rs. 5,700,000 (USD 18,500) will be awarded across all categories, with equal recognition for male and female athletes, underscoring ICA’s commitment to inclusivity and sporting excellence.

The ICA International Half-Marathon is more than a race, it is a platform for positive change. All proceeds will support ICA’s charitable initiatives across Sri Lanka, with a special focus on raising awareness for organ donation through the association’s self-pledging campaign. The event also serves to strengthen the bonds between India and Sri Lanka, uniting communities through shared traditions and a passion for sport.

Participants can collect their race kits, including bibs and jerseys, at One Galle Face Mall on 12 December (12:00 PM – 9:00 PM) and 13 December (11:00 AM – 6:00 PM). The scenic marathon route will guide runners past Colombo’s most renowned landmarks, from Galle Face Green along Marine Drive, through the historic Fort district, and culminating by the oceanfront. The festivities will conclude with an awards ceremony at 9:00 AM, open to all participants and supporters.
