Sri Lanka all set to become the cynosure of all eyes at the ITB Berlin 2026

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB )  will be kicking off  its exclusive promotional activities at the ITB 2026 , scheduled to be held in Messe , Berlin . This Prestigious event, in which Sri Lanka has been a regular participant over the years, will be held from 3rd  to 5th of March 2026 .  the number of participating countries are anticipated to be 180 +  , also 5000+ exhibitors from global sectors , 100,000+ trade visitors (tour operators, media, buyers, decision-makers) and is scheduled to attract  top-tier international media.

This will be equally important for Sri Lanka, as Germany is one of its top  source markets , and to develop more promotional activities, business partnerships and bilateral ties between the two nations. Further increasing more German Tourist arrivals and bringing more revenue to the country is also added to the outcomes of this participation. Hon . Deputy Minister of Tourism, Prof . Ruwan Ranasinghe is scheduled to participate at this event, alongside a Sri Lanka Press Conference, to address the global media and meet key operators.

The Sri Lankan delegation will include 72 local companies with the SLTPB , including  the participation of Sri Lankan Airlines. The Attractive Sri Lanka Pavilion, depicting  it’s beautiful  cultural and heritage will offer a vast variety of promotional products, distribution of promotional materials, including product brochures, giveaways, and souvenirs, Tea serving throughout the 3 day event. It is planned to get some active consumer engagement throughout the event – Promoting Sri Lanka directly to consumers (e.g. through giveaways, raffles, cultural performances, Facilitation of B2B meetings with travel trade partners,  and    Engagements with German media representatives.

These will further add meetings with international service providers, including PR and marketing professionals,   Promotions through SLTPB social media channels. All these plans will continue the momentum in the German Visitor Growth, providing a global platform for Sri Lanka’s private sector to showcase their products and packages, getting a more productive, and a global response from the global market.
