The Economic Times - Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts has appointed AVIAREPS India to lead its public relations and brand strategy in India. The move aims to reinforce the group's presence among Indian travellers, capitalising on Sri Lanka’s growing appeal as a preferred travel destination.
Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, with a portfolio of 17 properties, has been redefining luxury hospitality in the region. Its flagship project, Cinnamon Life – City of Dreams Sri Lanka, opened last year as the country’s largest private investment, valued at USD 1.3 billion. The integrated resort features 687 rooms, 12 dining venues, a 16,000 sqm MICE facility, and South Asia’s largest gaming space in collaboration with Melco, a leading global casino operator. A new shopping mall within the complex is set to open later this year.
Radhey Tawar, Chief Commercial Officer of Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, highlighted Sri Lanka’s tourism resurgence, stating, “Targeted promotions, enhanced airline connectivity, and strategic visa policies are driving strong tourism growth. Sri Lanka is on track to welcome 2.5 million visitors in 2025.”
Ellona Pereira, General Manager of AVIAREPS India, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying, “Sri Lanka is emerging as a top destination for Indian travellers. We aim to elevate Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts’ brand appeal by positioning it as the preferred choice for luxury and experiential stays.”
With Sri Lanka’s tourism revenue projected to reach USD 3.17 billion in 2025, Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts is expanding its footprint beyond Colombo. The recent opening of Kandy Myst by Cinnamon marks a step in its growth strategy, with further plans to strengthen its presence in key international markets, including the Maldives, UK, Middle East, and China.
