Tourist arrivals into Sri Lanka during May 2016 has increased to 125,044 which is a growth of 10.1 per cent as against May 2015, indicate the latest data released by the Economic Research Department of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
Tourist arrivals during the first five months of 2016 were 846,229 which is a growth of 18.4 per cent when compared to the same period of 2015, it further states.
Tourism revenue recorded during the first five months of 2015 had been USD 1,184.4 this has indicated an increase of USD 1,402.5 which is a growth of 18.4 percent.
The main sources of tourist arrivals in May 2016 were India, China, the United Kingdom, Germany and France which was 52.2 per cent of the total arrivals.
