Baby Cheramy’s parental clinics across Galle District, educate parents on baby safety and tips to overcome challenges in early childhood care

Encouraging fathers to be involved in every step of the pregnancy, including early childhood care, promotes better outcomes for the child, strengthens bonds between parents, and makes for a fulfilling and inclusive parental experience. Along with promoting inclusive parenting, the parental clinics also advised fathers on how they should be involved and supportive when the baby is born and how they can be engaged in early childhood development in order to improve the child’s physical and mental well-being.

Furthermore, the activation was conducted with the association of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, Ministry of Health (MoH), and the Early Child Care Development Authority. The parental clinics were held from 24th November to 3rd December 2022 at Baddegama, Habaraduwa, Imaduwa, Yakkalamulla, Hikkaduwa, Gonapinuwala, Ambalangoda, Elpitiya and Akmeemana, covering the entire Galle district. This was the third edition of the parental clinics by Baby Cheramy.

Baby Cheramy strengthens inclusive parenting knowledge through informative parental clinics across Kalutara District

Baby Cheramy, the leading and most loved baby care brand in Sri Lanka, successfully completed its parental clinic program series in Kalutara recently, covering Bandaragama, Panadura, Bulathsinhala, Ingiriya, Horana, Wadduwa, Mathugama & Agalawatta. The Parental Clinics educate parents on Baby Care, Early Childcare Development and Inclusive Parenting, providing valuable knowledge for parents to be empowered with the right knowledge and attitude to be successful parents and enjoy shared parenting. Through these parental clinics, Baby Cheramy educated both parents, especially fathers, on how they should be involved and supportive when the baby is born and also how they can be engaged in early childhood development in order to improve the child’s physical and mental wellbeing.

The Kalutara Parental Clinic was addressed by an expert resource panel with experienced professionals in Maternal and Baby care. Maternal and Child Healthcare consultant, Shyamalee Pathirage, addressed the audience on Baby care and Nutrition and Inclusive Parenting. A musical therapy session was arranged by Jagath Watawala (former Music Director at Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation) and Swarna Watawala (Aesthetics Teaching Instructor at Elpitiya Zonal Education Office). Further, the audience was addressed by. Madushani Amarasooriya, the Early Childhood Development Officer of the Divisional Secretariat, Bandaragama, on improvements at each stage in early childhood.

At the end of the parental clinic, mothers were gifted with a valuable Baby Cheramy gift pack and an Early childhood development and inclusive parenting guidance booklet approved by the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs. The programme was conducted in collaboration with Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, with approval from the Ministry of Health (MoH). Doctors from MoH also addressed parents in some sessions. Feedback was also collected from participants through feedback forms.

Hemas Consumer Brands reaffirms strong commitment to reforestation and increasing forest cover

Hemas Consumer Brands, Sri Lanka’s leading manufacturer in the Home and Personal Care sector has once again joined forces with the Rainforest Protectors of Sri Lanka to continue reforesting in a joint effort to conserve Sri Lanka’s rainforests.

The Balangoda Reforestation project was spearheaded in 2021 by Baby Cheramy, Kumarika and the Rainforest Protectors of Sri Lanka. The project has seen volunteers from all the business units of Hemas Holdings who joined the cross-group effort along with members of the Forest Conservation Department and people from the surrounding villages to contribute to the reforestation process.

This project not only helps replenish rainforests with new trees, but also helps existing forest areas, the plethora of flora and fauna that dwells in and around them preventing forest fires as well. Projects like the Balangoda Reforestation initiative are created and implemented to encourage citizens and authorities alike, to help protect our forest lands.

Baby Cheramy empowers new parents in Matara District with knowledge on nutrition and parenting amidst current challenges facing the nation

The Parental Clinics educate parents on baby care, Early Childcare Development and Inclusive Parenting, providing valuable knowledge about how to face the current nutritional challenges to ensure ideal nutrition for the effective physical, mental, and behavioural development in children.

At the end of the parental clinic, mothers were gifted with a valuable Baby Cheramy gift pack, a  nutritional breakfast seal pack and fresh milk packs, and a pregnancy and babycare booklet approved by the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs. The Matara Parental Clinic was addressed by an expert resource panel with experienced professionals in Maternal and Baby care. Baby Cheramy provides expert advice for parents with the aim of creating a safer world for babies

In celebration of its 60th Anniversary, Baby Cheramy, the leading and most loved baby care brand in Sri Lanka has launched the ‘Safer world for our babies’ educational and parental clinic programme with the aim of protecting and creating a safer world filled with love and care for babies, by sharing valuable knowledge on proper nutrition, Early Childhood Development, and inclusive parenting. Aligning its actions with its brand values, Baby Cheramy continuously contributes to the welfare of our society while providing the best care for babies.

The first in a series of programmes commenced in Dankotuwa on the 9th of August 2022. The programme advocated the importance of nutrition and inclusive parenting for both parents. At the end of each clinic, mothers and mothers-to-be were presented with a Baby Cheramy gift packs and a nutrition pack which included fresh milk and healthy breakfast cereal packs which help them to stay healthy and fit during their pregnancy period.  This initiative will take place alongside other programmes conducted around the island.

Additionally, Baby Cheramy also donated a product cabinet to the Children’s Ward of the Dankotuwa Hospital. The cabinet will be refilled, allowing mothers and mothers-to-be to use or take-home Baby Cheramy products at their convenience.

Going forward, these programmes will be conducted across the island in Western (Kalutara, Gampaha), Southern (Galle, Matara), and Eastern (Ampara) provinces. In addition to the programme, a pregnancy and parent-guide booklet on early childhood development, developed with the approval of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs', will also be presented to the mothers.

The Parental Clinics will also help educate parents on the importance of baby care, Early Childcare Development, and Inclusive Parenting, which is crucial for effective physical, mental, and behavioural development in the child. The brand will continuously work with government and regulatory authorities to uplift and improve the education of expecting parents regarding baby care and early childcare.
