TADHack Sri Lanka 2022 by hSenid Mobile Solutions, the most anticipated open global hackathon, was successfully held at the Dialog Axiata Auditorium on the 15th of October 2022 for the 8th consecutive year allowing Sri Lankan innovators to present and demonstrate their unique ideas and talents for the world.

This year’s registrations were opened up at the beginning of September, and there was an overwhelming demand where 2000+ registrants signed up by the application deadline (23rd September 2022).

The submitted ideas were then evaluated through a group of experienced mentors, and simultaneously hSenid Mobile hosted a series of webinars and workshops along the way to educate these innovators on how to use telco APIs and also introduced the all-new subscription methods in ideamart, and explained on how Telco APIs are revolutionizing mobile and web app development.

After carefully assessing the idea and the project proposals, 12 finalists were announced, who were going to pitch in front of the expert judging panel on the day of the hackathon. Once the finalists were selected, a group of experienced mentors worked with each selected team to offer guidance in developing the idea and the solution.

Team RegeX, one of the selected finalists from the University of Colombo, introduced their project, "FiremeX", an IoT-friendly smart NVR with fire detection, which uses artificial intelligence, where an algorithm is trained to identify the early stages of fire with image recognition. This fascinating idea of them did not only make them the winners of TADHack Sri Lanka 2022 but also made them win the TADHack Global Radisys prize of $1000 for the “Best Industry 4.0 Hack”.

Becoming the winner of TADHack Sri Lanka 2022 and winning the TADHack global prize is an overwhelming experience for team RegeX, as they were rewarded for their hard work and commitment.

These are promising signs for Sri Lanka as a nation to overcome the negative noise that has been hovering over the nation at large, and we can see that the youth of the nation is ignited with a spark and ready to change the world.

As inventions and innovations continue to change our world by leaps and bounds, hSenid Mobile Solutions along with TADHack Global will continue to play the role of facilitating a platform for Sri Lankan innovators to showcase their brilliant and innovative ideas using the latest technologies.
