The Ceylon Institute Of English & Leadership (CIOEL) is an online institution where they train people with Business English, Sustainability, Leadership and offer resume writing services for professionals.
If we look back a decade ago the technology in our planet was not so advanced like the present. The technology continues to grow in a rapidly changing world, and with the development of AI (artificial intelligence) new roles are being opened in the education industry. There will be several new job roles created within the next two decades, some which we don’t know as yet.
For an example let’s say you live in Sri Lanka and want to follow an executive certification, in Europe or the US, whereas its possible with technology. You can join the classes via Zoom or Microsoft Teams or a similar platform, and see the lecturers face on your computer/smart device in the comfort of your home or in a place of comfort. Furthermore, you can save a lot of money when you join online programmes compared to live sessions depending on the institutions.
As sustainability is growing like never before we notice that many people are becoming aware of what they buy. And many younger people understand about the climate crisis and are contributing towards sustainability.
CIOEL runs a podcast series on their YouTube channel with many interesting guests from different backgrounds. Also, Steven Silbiger the author of ‘The Ten-Day MBA’, an international best seller, which has sold over a half-a-million copies worldwide, has been featured on their podcast a few times.
Recently Watson Michael, Managing Director of CIOEL & Rory Moore (Forbes 30 Under 30 - Europe - Social Impact 2022) discussed on their podcast about how to create an impact in their community, importance of strategic partnerships to create a global impact, the importance of CSR, the future of education and the role of technology in education.
Rory has been described by the former UK Prime Minister as “an inspiration and a testament to the power of youth”, he received the Point of Light honour from the former UK Prime Minister for creating the world’s largest Covid-19 volunteering organisation. And his impact has been praised by the United Nations and the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation & Development (OECD).
Furthermore, the former UK Prime Minister asked Rory to advise the UK Government on volunteering strategy, and he received the Martin Luther King award in recognition of his status as one of the most successful campaigners on youth issues in the United Kingdom. He was also appointed as a Global Shaper for the World Economic Forum and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Also, Watson states “In this important digital age, we must respect our planet and as much as possible contribute towards living a sustainable life”.
