Training of Trainers Module on Non-Tariff Barriers and Non-Tariff Measures Environment in the SAARC Region

FCCISL in Collaboration with the SAARC Trade Promotion Network in Kathmandu, Nepal successfully conducted the National Level Training of Trainers module on NTBs and NTMs environment in the SAARC Region. The programme was held on 7th to 10th December, Hotel Renuka , Colomobo 03.

The ToT module was supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) which acts on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the resource persons attended from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and National Institute for Micro Small and Medium Enterprise ( ni-msme ) an organization of Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India.

This four day programme provided the trainees with the knowledge on prevailing NTBs and NTMs environment in the SAARC Region and also the programme created the platform to enhance their soft skills with a view to develop their capacity to be a better trainer in the future.

The objective of conducting this programme was to impart knowledge in overcoming challenges to trade within the region to public and private sectors so that they could organize future training programs, workshops and seminars to promote trade within SAARC countries, to which FCCISL could extend its support.

All the participants who attended the programme were representatives nominated from regional chambers, national chambers, government units, trade associations and institutions etc. On 10th December a brief press meet was held; and certificates were awarded to all participants in completion of the ToT programme.
