SCU Sri Lanka National Launch | 19–21 February 2026 | NSBM Green University, Homagama

Southern Cross University (SCU), one of Australia’s leading public universities, in partnership with NSBM Green University, is opening doors for Sri Lankan students to earn a globally recognised Australian Bachelor of Business - right here at home.

The landmark launch, taking place from 19 to 21 February 2026 at NSBM Green University, brings together the Australian High Commission, Ministry of Education, leading schools, tuition teachers, career counsellors, national media, parents, and students under one platform. This initiative reflects SCU’s commitment to supporting students every step of the way, offering a new pathway to world-class Australian degrees delivered locally with direct academic and career links to Australia.

The Southern Cross Model – Designed for Gen-Z
The launch showcases the Southern Cross Model - a distinctive learning framework that sets Southern Cross University apart through flexible delivery, clear learning pathways and strong connections to industry and community. The model is built around six-week teaching terms, deep focus on a smaller number of subjects, no traditional examinations, and high-impact industry projects and internships. This approach reduces academic overload, increases engagement, and allows students to master skills rather than memorise content, producing graduates who are confident, capable and career-ready.

Launch of the Bachelor of Business
A highlight of the launch is the introduction of SCU’s Bachelor of Business, available to Sri Lankan students from the February 2026 intake. The program equips students with skills essential for the modern global economy, including digital literacy, innovation, leadership, critical thinking, and strategic decision-making. Industry-embedded learning ensures graduates leave not only with an Australian degree but with real-world experience.

SCU Australian Academic Leaders in Sri Lanka
Adding international academic expertise to the launch, Professor Darshana Sedera, Associate Dean (International and Engagement), and Associate Professor John Haw, Chair of Discipline, will be present throughout the three-day event. Both senior academics bring extensive experience in digital transformation, business strategy, and student-centred learning. They will lead student workshops, parent forums, teacher briefings, and media interviews in English and Sinhala, giving families rare direct access to SCU’s leadership.

Teacher Ambassador Circle Launched
SCU will also formally establish the Teacher Ambassador Circle (TAC), Sri Lanka’s first international-university-backed teacher network. Senior schoolteachers, principals, career counsellors, and tuition masters will serve as SCU’s academic partners, guiding students, aligning school pathways with SCU programs, and strengthening long-term outcomes.

Student Engagement and Live Admissions
Unlike traditional education fairs, the SCU–NSBM National Launch is a live recruitment and enrolment activation. Over three days, students and parents can participate in interactive learning challenges, faculty-led sessions, school and teacher forums, and nationally broadcast media events. On-site teams will process applications and admissions enquiries, enabling students to enrol directly for February and July 2026 intakes.

To support early learners, the first 30 students to enrol during the event will receive a Samsung tablet to assist with studies, online learning, and digital collaboration.

The SCU–NSBM partnership marks a new chapter in Sri Lankan higher education, offering students Australian public-university degrees, global teaching standards, and international career pathways – all without leaving home. Southern Cross University and NSBM invite students, parents, teachers, and schools to join this historic launch from 19 to 21 February 2026 at NSBM Green University.
