HNB General Insurance (HNBGI) & HNB Assurance (HNBA) team emerged victorious at the 2025 MCA G Division League Tournament Championship, underscoring the company’s strong organizational culture that values teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The final, played on the 21st of June at the MCA Grounds, saw HNBGI/HNBA secure a commanding win over the Access Group. Batting first, HNBGI/ HNBA posted an imposing total of 229 for 6 in 25 overs. Star performer Dasun Abeywardana led the innings with a blistering 118 runs off just 58 deliveries, including 13 sixes and 6 fours. He was ably supported by Linal Subasinghe, who contributed 50 runs, and Dulanjana Wijesinghe, who added a quickfire 36.

In response, Access Group was bowled out for just 77 runs, with HNBGI/HNBA’s bowling unit delivering a clinical performance. Kithmal Wickramarathne spearheaded the attack with figures of 4 for 8 in 5 overs, while Chamod Piyumal and Isuru Sampath took two wickets each.

Dasun Abeywardana was named Man of the Final, while Dulanjana Wijesinghe was adjudged Man of the Tournament for his consistent all-round contributions throughout the series.
