As a leading importer of Neighbourhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs) to Sri Lanka, John Keells CG Auto continues investing in broadening and advancing the electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in the country, leading the way in the local EV market despite challenging times. The company says that its focus is also on expanding the showroom network, after-sales service and overall capacity building.

John Keells CG Auto (JKCG), since its inception in importing NEVs to the Sri Lankan market, has established 20 charging stations and the company affirmed that plans are currently being arranged to set up more charging stations across the country in the near future. Moving forward in this process, JKCG recently opened a showroom in Moratuwa parallel to the launch of SEALION 5. Further enhancing its customer services, the company established a new service facility in the Wattala Service Centre. Despite the challenging times JKCG is encountering, the company is committed to the unhindered growth of the electric vehicle market in Sri Lanka, JKCG notes in a recently released statement.

The statement read: “JKCG reiterates its mission of providing Sri Lankans with access to the highest quality New Energy Vehicles (NEV) available in the global market, while supporting a rapid transition to sustainable mobility across the nation. This includes our continued investment in charging infrastructure, expansion of the showroom network including the recently opened Moratuwa Showroom, after-sales service and capacity building through facilities such as the new Wattala Service Center. We believe that a fair and level playing field for all vehicle importers is essential to achieving this broader vision, which will also contribute to the country’s goals of sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation solutions.” The company assures its customers that all importation and deliveries of BYD Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) remain unaffected and will continue as scheduled. Further it states that warranties, spare parts, and related services remain fully supported by BYD and JKCG. “As we believe that a fair and level playing field for all vehicle importers is essential to achieving the broader vision of rapid transition to sustainable mobility in the country”, JKCG states. Appreciating its customers’ and stakeholders’ loyalty, trust and continued understanding and support, JKCG reiterates its commitment to compliance and complete transparency in this matter.
