He is prepared to embrace and accept the brotherly friendship extended by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) led United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA), says former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in a congratulatory message to the rally under the theme ‘Let us fulfill the aspirations of the 5.8 million who voted for Mahinda’ being held near the Nugegoda supermarket.

This message was read out to the audience by Dr. Dayan Jayatilleke while former President Mahinda Rajapaksa did not attend the rally.

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) led United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) has not been defeated and this is evident by its two-thirds majority in Parliament and the minority government in power now, states this message.

He cannot disregard the request of the people and that he would firmly hold the hands extended by the human wall that has arrived in Nugegoda, states Mahinda Rajapaksa in this message.

While addressing this rally, Udaya Gammanpila said that the people who have gathered at the Nugegoda rally demand that Mahinda Rajapaksa be made the Prime Ministerial candidate and that he should be brought to accept this demand even if the people have to go to Medamulana and bring him to do so.
