SLASSCOM Concludes National Ingenuity Awards 2025

The SLASSCOM National Ingenuity Awards 2025 brought together Sri Lanka’s brightest tech innovators this July at the Grand Marquee, Taj Samudra. Recognizing provincial and national winners across 16 categories, the event saw over 300 groundbreaking submissions—from school students to start-ups and leading corporates—setting a new benchmark for innovation excellence across the island.

With entries spanning FinTech, HealthTech, E-commerce, Agritech, EdTech, Government services, Internal Processes and more, this year’s awards solidified their position as the country’s foremost platform for digital ingenuity and real-world impact. In addition, special honors were presented for: Best Startup, School and University Innovations, Woman Technopreneur of the Year, and Tech for Good Software Innovation.

“We are witnessing a bold new generation of innovators tackling real-world challenges, generating employment, and driving societal transformation. The Ingenuity Awards are a launchpad for a robust, IP-driven innovation culture, helping Sri Lanka’s tech solutions scale regionally and globally. This is just the beginning—we’re igniting a future of possibilities,” said Haridhu Abeygoonaratne, Board Director - SLASSCOM and Chairman – Core Committee, SNIA 2025.

Among the standout solutions awarded was, Agriconnect by Trinity College, Kandy, an integrated digital and IoT-driven platform for sustainable agriculture. The University of Moratuwa impressed with its project on Real-Time Change Detection in Synthetic Aperture Radar Videos Using GPU Acceleration. Effectz.AI was awarded for E-Flow, an AI-powered solution enabling 90% faster, paperless invoice processing with minimal errors. Nadini Perera was honored as the Women Technopreneur of the Year for her solution, Ceylon Speechie, while Sysco LABS was acknowledged for its Sysco Agentic Ecosystem.

Nimbus Venture (Pvt) Ltd was recognized for YamanBuddy, a smart travel assistant, while SLT Mobitel enhanced agricultural productivity with AgroPulse, an intelligent planning and distribution platform.

Anka Technologies (Pvt) Ltd was acknowledged for advancing STEM, robotics, and AI education in Sri Lanka, whilst EFutures (Pvt) Ltd was honored for Moov Parcel in the Transportation & Logistics category. Unique Infotech Solutions (Pvt) Ltd earned accolades for OnlineBanking.LK, a forward-thinking fintech innovation.

Other notable innovations included Zone24x7 (Pvt) Ltd’s Industrial Vending Machine, the University of Peradeniya’s AI-powered wearable device for human motion analysis, and Ombo Technologies (Pvt) Ltd’s eDrops, a zero-emission, AI-driven delivery platform. Expo Visa Services (Pvt) Ltd was recognized for its EVS App, while Virtusa (Pvt) Ltd earned accolades for Accello, an AI-assisted test assurance platform, and ICTA & LankaPay Private Limited was commended for GovPay, a pioneering government payment solution.
