Sri Win Lanka Travels honours sub agents for role in business travel growth

December, 29, 2025

Sri Win Lanka Travels (Pvt) Ltd, a diversified travel company, recently felicitated its long-standing sub agents at its head office in Hildon Place, Bambalapitiya, Colombo, in recognition of their contribution to the company’s growth.

Founder Tharindu Idunil said the sub agents have played a key role in facilitating outbound travel for local businessmen, particularly in business travel, overseas employment and MICE tourism, and have been one of the company’s main pillars of strength, adding that the event was organised to honour and reward their continued support.

He said the same network of sub agents also helped the company send over 200 Sri Lankans to attend the Canton Fair, China’s largest and oldest international trade exhibition held in Guangzhou.

The biannual China Import and Export Fair features a wide range of products from thousands of Chinese and international companies, offering entrepreneurs opportunities to build new business connections and expand their ventures.

Referring to the recent floods that disrupted many businesses, Idunil said participation in the Canton Fair can help affected entrepreneurs rethink and restart operations by forming new partnerships and importing products directly from China at competitive prices.

He cited several instances where businessmen who attended the fair went on to expand their operations and open branches in multiple locations after applying the knowledge gained.

Sri Win Lanka Travels will facilitate direct links with suppliers and arrange visits to manufacturing facilities, enabling participants to obtain firsthand information on products they intend to import.

The company annually takes around 200 Sri Lankan visitors to the Canton Fair, with participants reporting positive business progress. Idunil added that even those yet to start a business can gain ideas and inspiration through exposure to the fair.
