30,000 sales target for Perodua Axia

August, 20, 2014

Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) aims to sell about 30,000 units of its energy efficient vehicle (EEV) model, the Perodua Axia, this year.

This is based on the value-for-money package the product range offers, said president and chief executive officer Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh.

He described the Perodua Axia as the company’s new benchmark in terms of improved quality, versatility and overall improved ownership experience.

“We believe the Perodua Axia is regionally competitive and that is why the word ‘Asia’, was incorporated into the name. This vehicle in addition, represents a whole new standard for us.

“This standard can also be categorised by four key highlights, namely, being environmental friendly, very spacious for a compact vehicle, easy driving and economical in term of overall cost of ownership.”

Bookings for the Axia opened last Friday at the 180 Perodua sales showroom nationwide. To date, the number of bookings have exceeded 3,500, he said. Aminar said the official launch for the model is expected to be next month.

The Axia is also Perodua’s ‎most fuel efficient car as it can potentially travel up to 21.6km per litre.

It packs a one-litre engine and comes in four variants of the Standard E, Standard G, Special Edition and Advance, with a five-year warranty, which is ‎another first for Perodua.

The Perodua Axia is priced at between RM24,900 and RM45,300 in Peninsular Malaysia.
