The Urban Development Authority (UDA) which was under the purview of the Ministry of National Defence and Urban Development during the former government have been brought under the purview of the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development by the incumbent government.

The Minister in charge is Patali Champika Ranawaka.

The government has published the Gazette notification on the various ministries in the National Government and the subject matters of the Ministers and institutions.

During the former government the UDA functioned under former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

The Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation and the National Physical Planning Department too come under the purview of the Ministry of Megapolis.
