Sierra Cables PLC recently carried out a recent survey at Nairobi in Kenya on the feasibility of a cable manufacturing plant to supply transmission and distribution cables to East African countries.
These feasibility studies have indicated favourable financial outcomes and a formal project report has now been approved by the company’s Board of Directors for implementation in the forthcoming months.
The Kenyan economy is expected to grow by 6 per cent in 2016 and a significant contributor would be infrastructure development.
Sierra Cables PLC could take part in this growth wave by establishing its place in the Kenyan manufacturing sector. The returns depend on considering the facility construction time, the initial trial production and the establishment of the marketing processes.
