European travelers are setting their sights on Sri Lanka this summer, with digital travel platform Agoda reporting a 13% year-on-year jump in accommodation searches for the island nation.

Sri Lanka joins a wave of rising destinations in Agoda’s Europe to Asia Summer Travel Trends report, which analyzed travel searches for July and August. Though Thailand, Indonesia, and Japan retained top positions, Sri Lanka is one of the standout climbers, along with Malaysia and China.

Agoda also highlighted trends from source markets, with Greece, Turkey, and Poland showing strong increases in outbound searches. Longtime leaders such as the UK and Germany continue to contribute significant search volumes for Asian destinations.

Among individual locations, Bali tops the list, followed by Bangkok and Koh Samui, the latter boosted by its recent portrayal in popular media.
