The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) has decided to the obtain the services of former Deputy Inspector of Police in the Criminal Investigations Department, Lionel Gunatilleke as a consultant.
When inquired from SEC Director (External Relations and Surveillance) Thushara Jayaratne, he said this step has been taken on behalf of the officials in the SEC investigations division.
He further added that the decision to obtain the consultancy services of such a DIG had been taken to enhance the skills of the investigators in activities like interrogation or questioning individuals.
Presently, new officers have been appointed to the investigations unit while the former officers have been assigned to other divisions, said Thushara Jayaratne.
