Sri Lanka Finance Ministry Issues Call for Revenue Enhancement Proposals

June, 4, 2026

The Revenue Management Committee (RMC) of the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development has launched a public call for revenue enhancement proposals. This initiative supports the government’s long-term goal of increasing national revenue performance to 20 percent of GDP.

Established under the Public Financial Management Act, No. 44 of 2024, the RMC is seeking evidence-based strategies focused on broadening the tax base, digitalizing revenue agencies, and formalizing the informal economy. Submissions may also address technology-driven systems and international best practices in tax policy.

The call is open to registered think tanks, universities, professional bodies, private-sector entities, and Sri Lankan citizens with fiscal policy expertise. Proposals must be submitted in PDF format to dgfp@fpd.treasury.gov.lk by the deadline of June 16, 2026.
