New models expand the GWM portfolio with fully electric mobility, plug-in hybrid performance, advanced technology and intelligent safety
David Pieris Automobiles (Private) Limited (DPA), the four-wheeler sales arm of David Pieris Group, has expanded its GWM portfolio in Sri Lanka with the launch of two new models: the fully electric GWM ORA 5 and the Haval Jolion MAX Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). The launch was held at the GWM Experience Centre operated by DPA at Access Towers, Union Place, Colombo 02.
GWM ORA 5: A New Era of Electric Mobility
The GWM ORA 5 is a fully electric premium hatchback combining contemporary styling, comfort and advanced technology. Powered by a 100 kW electric motor and a 58.3 kWh battery, it offers a driving range of up to 520 km under New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) testing conditions.
Its premium features include electric seats, a panoramic glass roof, a power tailgate and a 3.2-litre cooling box. Technology highlights include a 14.6-inch touchscreen display, voice control, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera with transparent chassis view and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling external electrical devices to be powered directly from the vehicle.
The ORA 5 also features advanced driver assistance technologies, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, front collision warning and traffic sign recognition. With 175 mm of ground clearance and four driving modes — Eco, Normal, Sport and Well Being — it is designed to meet diverse everyday driving needs.
Haval Jolion MAX PHEV: Performance Meets Efficiency
The Haval Jolion MAX PHEV combines electric driving capability with the flexibility of a petrol engine. Its 1.5-litre turbo plug-in hybrid powertrain delivers 240 kW of combined power and 513 Nm of torque, with an electric driving range of up to 108 km under NEDC testing conditions.
The SUV features a premium cabin with leather-appointed interiors, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, spacious second-row seating and a panoramic sunroof. Technology highlights include a 12.3-inch infotainment display, head-up display, 360-degree camera and voice control.
Safety features include Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking. The Haval Jolion MAX range also offers a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) variant that recharges its battery while driving without requiring external charging.
Expanding the GWM Portfolio and Customer Support
DPA currently offers a range of GWM vehicles in Sri Lanka, including the Haval H6 (HEV/PHEV), Tank 500 (HEV), Tank 300 (HEV) and Haval H6 GT (PHEV). The addition of the ORA 5 and Haval Jolion MAX PHEV further broadens its electrified vehicle portfolio.
