The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) recorded a massive turnover of Rs. 16.85 billion today (August 24), marking the highest single-day turnover since July 16, 2025, when turnover reached Rs. 17.01 billion.
The high turnover was primarily driven by major negotiated deals involving CT Holdings PLC and Cargills (Ceylon) PLC.
A total of 20.14 million shares of CT Holdings were traded through crossings at Rs. 575 per share, generating Rs. 11.58 billion in turnover.
Meanwhile, six million shares of Cargills (Ceylon) were traded at Rs. 700 per share, generating a turnover of Rs. 4.2 billion.
CT Holdings is the parent company of Cargills (Ceylon) and holds a 71.18% stake in the subsidiary.
