Sri Lanka’s Public Debt Management Office (PDMO), operating under the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, successfully raised its targeted Rs. 70,000 million at the Treasury bill auction held today (16) though weighted average yields posted gains across all three maturity tenors.
Yields nudged higher across the board compared to the previous auction:
Total market demand significantly exceeded the government's borrowing requirement, with total bids received reaching Rs. 171,601 million—more than 2.4 times the aggregate Rs. 70,000 million offered:
The official settlement date for the auction is set for September 18, 2026.
