All existing clients of Entrust Capital Markets (Pvt) Limited have been requested by the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) to transfer their securities/portfolios held with Central Depository Systems (Pvt) Limited (CDS) to another stockbroker firm or custodian bank of their choice.
On inquiry, a CSE spokesman told Ada Derana Biz that Entrust Capital Markets had not renewed its stock-broking license amidst the recent crisis situation.
Currently, the operations of the company have almost come to a halt. Accordingly, Entrust Capital Markets (Pvt) Limited could be considered the first stock-broking company to leave the stock exchange in recent history.
Earlier, Entrust Capital Markets operated under the name of Serendib Stockbrokers.
