Sri Lanka’s prominent Hettigoda Group is reportedly preparing to construct a star class hotel in the Mount Lavinia area.
While commenting on this, Hettigoda Group’s Business Development Manager Thusith de Silva told AdaderanaBiz.lk that this 98 room star class hotel would be constructed on a 75 perch land adjoining the supermarket complex in Mount Lavinia.
“Its construction will begin this November and is to be completed by 2016. Hettigoda Group plans to invest Rs. 1.5 billion in this project,” said Thusith de Silva.
The Hettigoda Group has established a new company by the name of Hettigoda City Private Limited for the construction of this city hotel.
“We have applied for this project to be carried out as a Board of Investments (BOI) venture. All equity funds for this project will be from the Hettigoda Group,” added de Silva.
This eight storied structure is designed with a shopping complex in the first two stories.
While the Hettigoda Group already owns a 50 roomed hotel in the Wadduwa area, with the completion of this hotel in Mount Lavinia its capacity would increase to 148 rooms.
