Sri Lanka’s Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) reported the second lowest Daily Turnover in 2019 which was merely a Rs.75.5 million with little over 6.8 million shares changing hands among traders as at the end of the trading today (10th).
This is the third day that Colombo stock exchange has reported a turnover less than Rs.100 Million in 2019. Earlier on January 4, 2019 a turnover of Rs.68.77 Million was reported and stood as a low turnover after 2009.
Moreover, a turnover of Rs.83.49 million was reported on May 23, 2019
However, conferring to the price indices, a considerable improvement was witnessed in the share market today. Accordingly, Colombo’s All Share Price Index (ASPI) closed 24.89 points higher at 5,323.07, and the S&P SL20 of more liquid stocks gained 0.71% or 17.56 points to 2,477.48.
