Race day brings Yamamoto’s ‘From the Road to the Racetrack’ story to life as rider No. 99 competes in the MX 250cc Open and MX 125cc categories at Minneriya.

Yamamoto Motor Corporation (Private) Limited takes its ‘From the Road to the Racetrack’ campaign to Gunner Supercross in Minneriya on 27 September 2026, with Jacques Nathan Gunawardena set to represent the brand in the MX 250cc Open and MX 125cc categories. He will race under number 99.

Gunawardena’s participation is part of Yamamoto’s wider commitment to motorsport and its six-rider racing team. While the team represents the company’s broader support for motorcycle racing, Gunawardena will carry the Yamamoto name into these two categories at Gunner Supercross.

A five-time national champion, Gunawardena’s racing profile records 168 races, 73 wins and 143 podium finishes. His achievements include Under-16 National Championship titles in 2012, 2013 and 2014; National MX Championship titles in 2015 and 2019; and an overall third-place finish at the 2019 Dubai Motocross Championship. In 2013, he became the first Sri Lankan to achieve a podium finish at the FIM Asian Motocross Championship, where he ranked second. He also competed at the Junior MX Championship in Australia with support from KTM Australia.

In 2024, Gunawardena finished as National and SLARDAR Champion and placed fifth overall in the Indian Supercross championship. He represented the Gujarat Trailblazers in the Indian Supercross Racing League. His experience across Sri Lankan and international competition brings an established racing record to his appearance at Minneriya.
