Sri Lanka official reserves increase to US$7.7bn in October 2019

Sri Lanka’s gross official reserves grew by US $148.27 million to US $ 7,783.6 million in October 2019 from US $ 7,635.33 in September, latest Central Bank data showed.

By the end of September, foreign currency reserves were 6,757 million dollars while the reserve position in the IMF was 66 million dollars.

Reserves in Gold were 952.2 million and other reserve assets were 1.0 million US dollars.

Moreover, during the year up to 08th November 2019 the Sri Lanka rupee has appreciated against the US dollar by 1.0%.
