Stock market turnover tops Rs.6.1bn. ASPI up by 83.88 points

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) closed trading for the day (05) recording a daily turnover of Rs 6.18 billion.

Here, Browns Investments PLC (Rs. 1.25 billion) made the highest contribution to the daily turnover. In addition, Expolanka (Rs.634.75 million), ACL Cables ( Rs.372.34 million) and Alumex (Rs. 240.79 million) made significant contributions to the turnover. 

Meanwhile, the main index of the Colombo Stock Exchange, the All Share Price Index (ASPI) surged 83.88 points or 1.22% to close at 6,978.86 whilst the S&P SL20 gained 20.19 points or 0.75% to close at 2,707.64.

Today 129 companies contributed positively to the ASPI’s gain. Stocks which contributed most to ASPI’s gain were Ceylon Tobacco Company, Browns Investments PLC, Vallibel One, Distilleries and Expolanka.
