XpressJobs Recognised at Sri Lanka’s First National AI Awards for Agentic AI Innovation

October, 1, 2026

XpressJobs has been recognised for its AI Recruitment Assistant in the Best Agentic AI Solution category at the National AI Awards 2026. The inaugural ceremony took place on 30 September at Monarch Imperial, Colombo.

The awards form part of Sri Lanka AI Week 2026: AI Amplified, powered by the Ministry of Digital Economy and SLT-MOBITEL. They recognise organisations building practical AI solutions in Sri Lanka.

Two rounds of filtering narrowed 263 applications to 83 companies, which went to face-to-face judging. Four expert panels assessed entries over two days. Criteria included innovation, measurable impact, technical excellence, responsible AI, scalability and execution. This is a National AI Award, not a recruitment award

XpressJobs developed the AI Recruitment Assistant after years of working in recruitment. Its team saw the bottleneck move. Finding and filtering candidates was no longer the hard part. Keeping candidates engaged, answering their questions and moving them through the process was.

"This recognition is particularly special to us because it is not a recruitment award. It is a National AI Award. We have spent years building technology around recruitment, and we brought that expertise into AI to solve a real problem. To see technology built in Sri Lanka recognised on a national AI platform is incredibly meaningful for our team."

Dr. Oshadie Korale, COO, XpressJobs

The assistant was first piloted in September 2025. It now works as an agentic AI tool. It contacts relevant candidates, starts conversations, explains roles and companies, qualifies talent and guides candidates through screening, applications and assessments.

More than 40 enterprises have tested it. Use cases include internships, graduate recruitment, technology hiring, frontline roles and high-volume recruitment.

It supports English, Sinhala and Tamil, and works on channels candidates already use, including WhatsApp. That reduces repetitive HR and candidate conversations and gives candidates faster, more consistent support.

XpressJobs also builds applicant tracking, online assessments, CV-less applications and recruitment analytics. The assistant adds AI to that stack. The company is continuing to expand its AI recruitment products in Sri Lanka and beyond.
