It is learned that the names of Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) Deputy Director General Dhammika Perera and Director of the SEC’s Capital Market Development Vajira Gunawardene have been proposed to fill the vacancy of the Director General’s post.

The post of Director General – SEC has remained vacant for some time and the vacancy was advertised recently.

Professor Harendra Disa Bandara functioned as the Actor Director General of the Securities & Exchange Commission for some time and after his resignation in 2013, Deputy Director General Dhammika Perera has been overseeing the Commissions functions.

Recently, the SEC Board of Directors decided to fill the Director General vacancy while following the due procedures.
