Achieving Consensus to Sustain Reforms and Growth in Focus at the Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2023

The fourth session of the Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2023 conducted by The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce on 28th and 29th November will explore the most effective means to achieving consensus to sustain reforms and growth".

Session 4 will delve into topics including the cost of corruption to businesses and the public, the incorporation of governance reforms alongside macroeconomic reforms, and strategies to enhance institutional effectiveness, productivity, independence, and accountability.

The session will bring together a panel of experts to shed light on the reforms necessary to accelerate growth beyond an IMF program. Mr. Vishwas Udgirkar – Partner and South Asia Delivery Excellence Leader Deloitte will present the session, with Hon Shehan Semasinghe, State Minister of Finance, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, MP, Dr. Harsha De Silva, Member of Parliament and Chair of the Committee on Public Finance, and Ms. Nadishani Perera, Executive Director of Transparency International Sri Lanka will comprise the panel, with Dr. Nishan de Mel, Executive Director of Verite Research, serving as the moderator.

The session will comprehensively explore the multifaceted challenges and opportunities facing Sri Lanka in the pursuit of sustained economic reforms and growth, with participants gaining valuable insights into tackling corruption, optimizing governance, and enhancing the effectiveness and accountability of institutions.
