The American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka held a roundtable discussion this morning with Acting Assistant Secretary, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Alice G. Wells, U.S. Ambassador for Sri Lanka and the Maldives Alaina B. Teplitz, and other key officials from the U.S. Embassy and AmCham members.

The roundtable discussion, held with AMCHAM member companies, focused on opportunities for greater economic collaboration, highlighted feedback from the private sector on current business challenges faced, and explored opportunities to expand partnerships, investments and two-way trade under the Indo-Pacific strategy, specifically between the United States and Sri Lanka.

Founded in 1992, the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Sri Lanka celebrates 27 years of bringing together US companies as well as local companies doing business with the U.S. AmCham is seen as one of the most dynamic and influential business chambers in the country, promoting activities that would encourage and stimulate investment by U.S. companies, supporting the ongoing business operations of its members and encouraging bilateral trade between the U.S. and Sri Lanka.
