The Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC) held its 50th Anniversary Board Meeting and has elected Marie Kissel as its new Chairman. Ms. Kissel is based in Tokyo and is Senior Advisor, International Government Affairs for Abbott. Ms. Kissel, a longtime American business executive in the region, succeeds Jackson Cox who has served as APCAC Chair for the past three years.

“I am honored to have been elected the new Chairman of APCAC and I am looking forward to the important work ahead. APCAC and its 28 member AmChams are doing vital work throughout this dynamic region. APCAC is dedicated to promoting solutions to make it easier to do business in Asia,” said Ms. Kissel from Kuala Lumpur, where she and more than 350 delegates from across the region are meeting for the annual APCAC Business Summit hosted by the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce.

APCAC has additionally announced its new Executive Committee members including Ann Yom Steel, Executive Director of AmCham Singapore as the new APCAC Vice Chair; Tara Joseph, President of AmCham Hong Kong as the new APCAC Treasurer; and Adam Sitkoff, Executive Director of AmCham Vietnam (Hanoi) as the new APCAC Secretary. Other Corporate and Regional Vice Chairs will be announced in the coming weeks.
